Summary: Post-Moonvasion! Della and Selene’s first conversation after Della’s return from the moon.
Selene waited eagerly for her best friend’s arrival. She didn’t get a chance to talk to Della after leaving Lunaris in Earth’s orbit. Her and Storkules had to return home to release their father from his bonds. Any longer and the consequences would’ve been devastating.
Selene was suddenly hit with a weight as arms wrapped around her. “Selene! Oh, it’s good to see you. I missed you so much.” She returned the hug just as strongly. “I’ve missed you too.”
Selene held tightly to Della as if trying to make up for lost time. But slowly, guilt washed over her. She pulled back from the hug and cupped Della’s face between her palms. “Della, I’m so sorry for not helping you. I didn’t even know you were missing until recently when your son came looking for information on you. If I had known you were on the moon, I would’ve done everything in my power to help you. Can you forgive me?”
Della sighed. “Yeah. I know that time works differently for you. I even lost my own sense of it while I was up there. Besides, I didn’t tell you I was headed into space. Who knew I’d end up on the moon?”
Selene smiled in amusement. “You could’ve told me you named your rocket ship after me. It would’ve been nice to know you thought I could help you see stars.”
Della blushed at Selene’s teasing and shook her head with laughter. “So you could tease me about it later? Not a chance.”
