Summary: Beca is in need of a late night snack, but she gets more than what she asked for.

Beca had finished a new mix after stacking CDs and was now walking out of the radio station. It was much later than usual since she had lost track of time. As she was thinking about how great her bed would feel once she collapsed onto it, she almost ran into Chloe.

“Chloe? What are you doing here?” Beca asked.

“I was looking for you. I went to your dorm, but you weren’t there. Then I checked our place by the tree in the courtyard, but you weren’t there either. So, I figured you were still here. What are you still doing here?” Chloe responded.

Beca smiled at her girlfriend’s concern. “I got an idea for a new mix, so I started working on it and lost track of time.”

Chloe started bouncing on the balls of her feet as she got excited. “Ooh, did you finish it? Can I listen to it?”

Beca chuckled at Chloe’s enthusiasm. “Yes to both questions.” Beca held out her arm for Chloe to take. “Let’s go to Franny’s. I’m going to need sugar to stay awake.”

Franny’s was a 24-hour diner near campus. It was very often frequented by college students who either needed a break from studying or needed somewhere off-campus to study. Tonight, a few students of each type were scattered around the establishment, enjoying Franny’s late night atmosphere.

After Beca had her necessary dose of sugar, she let Chloe listen to the mix she had completed no more than an hour ago. Chloe bopped her head to the beat and grinned throughout the entire song. When it was over, she removed the headphones and looked at Beca with awe. “That was great Beca. You are amazing.”

Beca gave her a small smile. “Thanks. Although, I wish you weren’t the only person who thinks that.”

Chloe wrapped Beca in a hug. “Bec, you’re time will come and the people who don’t see how amazing you are now, will regret it later. But, for now, all you need is the confidence in yourself to keep going.”
